Mychela's Journal
April 27, 2005
From the home of Mychela
Hey Ya’ll. Wow home sweet home. I’m keeping very
busy these days, my Newfie friend and drummer decided to come
on the road with me full time, so that’s quite a relief.
He brings quite a bit to my stage - he’s a great
singer, drummer and oddly enough he’s a bit of a comedian.
His name is Deon. I still have Dr wand on bass and Bob Kitt on
Keys. However Rob Kaup has decided to move on and I wish him
all the best. He is a great Guitar player. I’m sure he’ll
be fine. Of course I am now looking for a new guitar player,
please
send email to mychela@mychela.ca,
just in case…
I also am still writing I would love to go record new songs
and get a single on the radio. However, there are many obstacles
to over come, like finding the right producer and the right songs
whether it’s mine or by someone else. So I guess we will
see.
Well I guess I’ll keep it short this time. I look forward
to seeing you on the road.
Thanks for your support!
Till next time… Luvin

From the road!
Wow it is 2005 already. It’s amazing how
quickly time passes us by!
The new year is looking good for us,
we have decided to perform under the band name “Mychela
and The Amherst Band”. We are playing a game of switch the musicians right now, our
Guitar Player Rob Kaup is now on drums and we have hired a new
guitar player. I hope he works out and enjoys playing with us
he is a great musician. We will let you know how things are as
soon as we know.
Things have been pretty busy and I am having
a blast. I have a great band, the CD is selling quite well and
we are working
on a few new projects so keep checking in and we will keep you
posted as things start to happen. It is going to be a great year
for “Mychela and The Amherst Band” and we are looking
forward to 2005.
Thanks for your support. Please check the tour
page to see when we are rolling into your town and if we are
not booked for you
town, then e-mail us and maybe we can work out a schedule. Until
next time - keep lovin' the music!

From the Road!
Wow It sure has been a while since I have written
all you guys, I
have been so Busy and
don’t
have full time access to a computer anymore -
imagine
life without a computer, Its
horrible!
Things have been slowly coming together,
however
it is very difficult. I
do have a 5 piece band
now that I tour with. They
are an amazing group of guys and musicians and I
hope you all will come to the shows and meet them. We
haven’t
thought of a band name as of yet, hey
just want to go under MYCHELA. However
there is more to the band
than me,
without
those guys playing music with me I wouldn’t be on a stage. So
I am not sure I like that idea. We
are just getting started though and
I am really looking forward to working with them. We
play our first show as a 5 piece
in Calgary next weekend...
that is very exciting!
I am now commuting back and forth
to Fort McMurray Alberta, I don’t really like the big city
and my family is here. Because of my schedule most
of the shows I play are back 3 therefore I have 3-4 days almost
every
week that I can spend with them. I
always had high goals that I wanted to accomplish, NO
MATTER WHAT,
but
in these past few months of doing some soul searching I have
realized that while having dreams and goals
are important, and
needed in a persons life, but LOVE is the most important thing (now
is the time I wish I had written Die of a Broken
Heart - Shaye
Smith and CDJ are amazing songwriters).
So
in conclusion now that I feel like I have opened up my heart
and soul to the world… Keep true to yourself, but make
sure that when
you have the important things in your life. Take
care of them,
love
them, and cherish them... with
ALL your heart!
I
hope to see you on the road soon…

From The Home Of Mychela
Wow it has been one wild ride around
here, but Life is good! Just a quick little update for everyone:
First of all I just
returned back from a weekend trip to Calgary that was fun. I
met up with Damian Marshall – great performer. He was playing
at Ranchman’s (Somewhere I hope to be playing at some point
in my career).
Then I entered a singing competition at the Country
Roads saloon and I made it to the Semi Finals. A huge thanks
goes out to the judges, new and old friends that were there
and the fans that I made. There was a great show of talent at
the
contest, so the judges put four people through to the semi
finals. Good luck to all of you, I look forward to seeing you
and hearing
you again!
Next on the agenda is a pretty big announcement No
I am not having a baby, or getting married (ha, ha) so you can
catch your breath… feel
better now? Good! I have made a decision that I have been battling
with for quite some time now. I have spent the last short while
living in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
I have been living
very comfortably, surrounded by family, friends, great fans and
supporters. I have a nice
home and I
have never been in need or want for anything (except a successful
music career!), but I have made a decision to
step away from my comfort zone, leave what I know as my life
here,
and move to Edmonton, Alberta. I'll
still be close to my brother (who is
also my rhythm guitar player) and my mom,
however
I am
hoping that
this move will give
me the
opportunity to do more with
this dream of mine.
To all of my family, friends, and fans thank
you for all your love and support, you will never be forgotten.
I will love and
cherish you forever. As always, thanks for stopping by and I look
forward to seeing you all on the road in the very near future.

From the Home Of Mychela…
Wow, things have been crazy busy,
Here on the home front. First of all I want to wish all you moms
out there a wonderful and
Happy "Mothers Day"
Here’s a little info on where
I’ve been and what
I am up to.
I now hold a full time job (and then some) as the
Bar manager at a local Bar here in Fort McMurray, called Shakers.
It’s
a great bar and I love it. The owners are awesome and my staff
is wonderful. However that does interfere with my time for writing
music, But that’s okay for now because I can’t afford
to record another CD until I make some money!
This Music industry
is very difficult most of the time and hugely expensive but don’t
worry I am not going anywhere, I just wont be on the road as
soon as I expected, which is disappointing
but everything in time I guess…
I have a few shows booked
for this year, all of them are here in Fort McMurray. This is
a great place to perform, the people
that come to my shows are all very supportive and I even had
my first encore in March so that was a cool feeling!
Thanks you
to all who have supported me so far and for your continuing support.
If you are new to this site or have just come away from
one of my shows, thank you for coming, I hope that you had a
great time, and I look forward to hearing from you and meeting
you soon.
Well I guess that’s it for now, till next time…

Hee Haw! What a great few weeks I’ve had…IT ROCKED!
I have so much to tell you…So grab a Coffee sit back & put
your feet up. It all started when the CD arrived…It was
quite exciting and stressful(The CD didn’t get here until
Thursday, the CD Release Party was on Friday) Thank God For Fed
Ex. Friday came and I had the CD Release Party of the Year, it
was Awesome. We had a full house. Over 200 people showed up,
it was fantastic!
Next I went to the Huron Carol. I love that amazing show and
Tom Jackson had a heart of gold I swear. I met up with my Pal
Marvin, we had a little chat and the next day I was off to Calgary
to Visit with my Grandma from Newfoundland & so was Marvin
from the Huron Carol! So he got me VIP Tickets. I hung out with
him for a bit in Calgary. Met up with Amanda Stott, what a beautiful
person she is. Brad Johner, he’s just so cool. I’ve
met him a time or two before, he’s pretty grounded. He
convinced me to go to the CCMA’s in the first place. Thanks
Brad!
I didn’t meet Tom Jackson and Beverly Mahood though They
were right there but you know everyone wanted a piece of them,
so I just left them alone. I am sure my day will come to meet
up with them and hopefully I’ll get to be a part of that
wonderful Christmas giving they are spreading each year (Crossing
My fingers). The wonderful Michelle Wright was there (I told
you in my last journal entry that she was the highlight of my
CCMA weekend and now, for me, she’s the highlight of the
Huron Carol). She remembered me from the CCMA’s which was
cool, we had a little chit-chat, some girl talk, but mostly she
just kept everything real for me. She is so real, so grounded,
I like that in a person, especially someone of her statue. It
was awesome. In the Event that your reading this Marv, thanks
a lot buddy, I appericate it.
So after all of that was over it was back home. My Visit With
my Grandma was short but we had a good time. I love my family,
they are so important to me.
So I get home and then it’s straight into Christmas shopping…
Love...

Hi Everyone,
It has been a while once again since I have had a moment to
write to you, I guess that's something you're getting used to
hey! I have been out of town for a little holiday with my other
half, we took a trip out west, Banff, Whistler, Vancouver, and
back to Fort McMurray, Alberta. It was awesome, I had a great
time, it was very relaxing, I think in the next little while
some great writing will come of it. was inspired by the scenery
out there, and it sure is beautiful.
Well enough of my trip, The CD is at the plant, finally. We
had a few rough times with the graphics but I think it's all
A okay now. So what am I doing? As little as possible! I wish!
I am preparing for the CD release party; I am trying to make
it a great event.
But it sure is a lot of work
everyone is cooperating so
far though. I am also hiring new band members, so there are a
few things in the works
I hope you all are still patient about the CD, It will be here
I promise, the Guys at RDR, are awesome, Joe Wood rocks! We will
be setting up a payment plan on the website so you can buy from
here. I will try to make things easy as possible for you..
In the meantime, Take a scoot over to the Music page and check
out the Samples of the CD.
I have to go now, but I will be back
When..I don't know,
But I'll try and be back soon.

Canadian Country Music Week!
WOW! is the only word that I can find to describe my experience
in Calgary this last week. I met so many new and wonderful people,
as well as catching up with some old friends!
I met a great new friend and writer Sara-Beth. We will be getting
together over the next few months to write and hit the scene
of Calgary, so look out Calgary, we're getting ready to make
our mark!
I am very excited about the future of my music, I have never
been so serious about anything before. I am going to give it
my best shot.
The highlight of my weekend was meeting Michelle Wright
she's
awesome! I enjoyed chatting with her and I hope to always remember
how she treated me and how grounded she is. That is what I want
to be like. She has inspired me greatly this weekend - thanks
Michelle.
To all my friends that I met this weekend (so many I can't name
you all), I look forward to meeting with you again very soon.
Big Mike, We have to belt out a few tunes
Thanks for checking out my site once again. I hope things start
to get busy real soon, so that I will have more news and views
to write about. I will be adding a new power point presentation
to my photo gallery that is well worth your visit.
Until then, live love and laugh!
All my love,
Mychela

Hi Everyone,
Wow it has been so busy. I have to tell you, I spent last weekend
in the studio with Ian Martin again, and I had so much fun, however
i don't enjoy the Studio as much as I enjoy a live performance.
I love getting out there and being with all of you.
So I have made my last trip to the studio. Ian is now working
hard on getting it ready to go to manufacturing. Which should
be in the next couple of weeks.
This weekend holds a lot of fun for everyone here in Fort McMurray.

Mychela and Hot Black Desiato Will be performing on Friday night
11pm-12 midnight and Saturday 9:00-10:00pm. On Saturday we open
for the Talented Gail Gardner and the Claim Jumpers.
Anyway, I guess that's about all i have to tell ya right now...I
want to keep you as close to my heart as i can...I may not write
as much as i should but always remember your in my heart...
